What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Installation Technician position at ENTEK?
ENTEK is seeking service-oriented candidates for a Field Installation Technician role who will be responsible for frequently traveling to customer sites and supporting the installation, repair, or maintenance of ENTEK-supplied equipment.
This is a traveling position, but to ensure high-quality customer service, it would be ideal if the person hired for this role was based near Terra Haute.
The individual in this role will be responsible for assembling, leveling, and anchoring equipment. Most projects contain mechanical tubing and piping that must be completed while working at height in a scissor or aerial lift. This is a mechanical construction position. The individual in this role collaborates closely with other team members, contractors, and customers.
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities
- Installation of ENTEK-supplied equipment.
- Build new industrial machinery.
- Communicate with customers and coworkers on an ongoing basis.
- Utilizing strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening, speaking, and writing).
- Valid Driver License.
- 3 years of relevant support experience.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, think critically, and maintain focus. Strong time management and organization skills, plus knowledge and use of technology-driven tools.
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative to seek resolution.
- Problem analysis skills: the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to develop reasonable solutions.
- Able to remain poised in stressful situations.
- Has a proper understanding of customer support; must be able to respond to customer inquiries immediately, gather and research information, assemble and share information, and verify that the customer understands information and is satisfied.
- Aerial / scissor lifts and forklift skills.
- PC skills: Excellent Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Satisfactory results from a drug screen.
Working Environment
This position requires extensive travel, and 10-hour shifts Monday-Friday—and 8-hour Saturday shifts occasionally when in the field.
The incumbent must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
