ENTEK is seeking applications for a Laser Operator role to join us on-site at our Henderson, Nevada, location (relocation within 40 miles of Henderson is required).
As a Laser Operator at ENTEK, you will be responsible for operating a laser cutting machine to cut parts according to specifications, ensuring precision and quality in the fabrication of metal components. This will be accomplished by ensuring proper alignment and calibration, utilizing measuring tools such as calipers to verify the dimensions and tolerances of finished products, and performing quality checks on finished parts to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Your responsibilities will include collaborating with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes, possessing a strong understanding of various machining processes, and being able to read blueprints to produce parts that meet specifications.
The Laser Operator will play a crucial role in maintaining production efficiency and quality standards. Your commitment to following safety procedures will be essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Requirements:- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 to 3 years of Proven experience in operating an Amada laser cutting machine or similar equipment.
- Amanda software experience is preferred (Production Planner, ABE, material explorer, Parameter explorer).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to communicate time frames and cut completion times
- Ability to recognize and be familiar with different types of metals and thicknesses such as Aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, and others.
- Strong understanding of laser cutting processes and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Working Environment
The typical hours for this role are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
This role is based in a machine shop environment, which may require the employee to work with or be near equipment that uses high heat, mechanical means, and lasers to create metal-based products. The incumbent will spend most of their 8-hour shift on their feet.
This role requires the incumbent to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Incumbents will complete tasks that require finger dexterity, reaching, handling of materials and tools/and equipment, talking, and hearing, as well as near and far sight, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The individual in this role may be required to kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, and/or balance.
The role may occasionally expose the employee to fumes and airborne particles, as well as temporarily high temperatures and temporarily bright light. This role requires wearing eye and hearing protection while working.
