About the Position: This role involves reviewing and evaluating customer requirements to create technical sales proposals and managing customer projects after securing business. The focus will be on applications in Industrial, Chemical, Air Quality Control Systems, and Metallurgical sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents
- Develop cost-effective process solutions tailored to customer needs
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for equipment supply
- Develop scopes of work, equipment lists, performance guarantees, clarifications, exceptions to specifications, and pricing
- Prepare basic General Arrangement drawings for proposed equipment
- Perform contract reviews for purchase orders
- Clearly communicate project requirements to Project/Design Engineering upon order receipt
- Manage and execute select customer projects from quote to shipment and/or commissioning
- Provide technical sales support at customer meetings
- Offer process support through occasional plant visits
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in Application Engineering and/or Project Engineering
- Technical writing skills and experience in creating and/or evaluating proposals
- Proven project management or B2B sales experience
- Effective communication skills with colleagues, suppliers, and customers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Inventor is a plus
- Basic knowledge of PLCs is a plus
- Exposure to CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) is a plus
- BS degree in Engineering or a related field, preferably Mechanical Engineering
Travel: Occasional travel within North America and internationally, typically less than 15%, depending on project needs.
