Job Title: Industrial Instrumentation Expert
This position will be filled as an industrial instrumentation expert III, II, I, or CRO based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will operate and maintain systems associated with a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facility while demonstrating safety awareness and direction that will continuously improve performance by employees and contractors through the use and strict adherence to procedures and processes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure regulatory compliance and take proactive measures to deal with all agencies and prevent reportable violations.
- Participate in the multi-year industrial instrumentation expert multi-skill progression plan to develop key skills in maintenance and operations.
- Conduct and participate in job briefings and safety meetings, and be responsible for contractor safety and conduct contractor safety orientations as needed.
- Apply understanding and knowledge of plant systems, burner controls, turbine controls, data acquisition, process controls, regulating devices, personal computers, troubleshooting, etc.
- Operational duties include, but not limited to, operating the control board, making operational rounds, performing PM/PDM activities, HRSG water chemistry, CEMS monitoring and calibrations.
- Apply skills to perform inspections, calibrations, installations, repairs, diagnostics, testing and troubleshooting of complex instrumentation equipment and regulating devices in a CCGT facility, alone and as part of a team.
- Perform mechanical work involved in inspection, repair and installation of instrumentation and electrical equipment, and light PM of mechanical systems.
Qualifications:
- Either the minimum education or minimum experience requirements must be met by the applicant for job consideration.
- P-Tech III:
- 0-2 years of experience in a CCGT facility in an operations or maintenance position, and a 2-Year associate degree in industrial electronics, instrumentation/controls or production/process technology or equivalent work experience. OR
- 4 years of power plant operations/maintenance/electrical experience.
- PTECH II - I:
- 2-5 years of experience in a CCGT facility in an operations or maintenance position, and a 2-Year associate degree in industrial electronics, instrumentation/controls or production/process technology or equivalent work experience. OR
- 5 years of power plant operations/maintenance/electrical experience.
- P-Tech CRO:
- 5 years of experience in a CCGT facility in an operations or maintenance position.
- Training in power plant operations, power plant systems and power plant performance or corresponding technical degree from an accredited school.
- Control room operational experience in drum type, supercritical, combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT), solar, wind, utility size batteries, reciprocating engines, Hydro.
- Recognized system wide as knowledgeable in power plant operations.
Expertise:
- Good at communicating, both verbally and written, the results of evaluation of assignments to supervision.
- Ability to interpret and comprehend P&ID's, electrical schematics, network diagrams and OEM manuals.
Certification:
- Successful completion of the EEI POSS/MASS Test.
