Job Purpose:
The Central Procurement Specialist is responsible for the strategic procurement of materials and goods to meet the demands of the business. Leveraging advanced supply chain and purchasing expertise, this role operates autonomously to execute progressively complex and variable scopes of work. The specialist utilizes Entergy's purchasing processes, systems, and tools to identify the most appropriate sourcing channels, delivery methods, and commercial terms to ensure cost-effective, efficient, and compliant procurement. Key interfaces include internal business units, suppliers, and other Supply Chain teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote strong safety behaviors and identify/address any supplier safety concerns
- Apply procurement principles (plan, strategize, source, perform) to each request
- Process RFQs, resolve invoice discrepancies, and identify/evaluate new/current suppliers
- Ensure compliance with legal, risk, and quality requirements for nuclear-related purchases
- Deliver cost savings through competitive bidding, negotiations, and cost avoidance
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
- Serve as a central point of contact and maintain open communication
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field can be credited for up to 4 years of experience.
- 6 years of materials purchasing, supplier management, or other supply chain experience
- Proficient in Entergy's procurement systems, policies, and processes
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and financial/data analysis capabilities
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and project management skills
- Preferred: SC certification (CPSM, APICS) and prior experience in the energy industry
