Project Manager Consultant

This Hybrid role requires that you live within a comfortable commutable distance of our Arlington, VA office and that you are willing to be on-site a few days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Develop understanding of domain to manage  and monitor project plans, project schedules, and work hours
• Lead and deliver projects and products that exceed client expectations within the project budget and company targets
• Plan, execute, manage, and deliver enterprise-level  projects from strategy and design to implementation
• Manage and facilitate stakeholder meetings and project planning with team 
• Facilitate  Change Request processes as required in order to maximize business and strategic outcomes
• Facilitate meetings and deliver presentations  to communicate project status, articulate business value, and deliver  relevant  services
• Proactively ensure important tasks and decisions are documented and taking place on schedule
• Support requirements gathering facilitation by preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings
• Quickly understanding the client’s business issues and data challenges.
• Undertake project tasks and assist with project strategies through implementation
• Ensure documentation is maintained and organized appropriately for each project
• Document, and escalate risks appropriately
• Manage and track the project budget
• Support the development of repeatable  Project Management practices and process for the organization
• Evaluate and offer areas of process improvement across programs

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, IT, or a related field of study
• 5 years of experience managing business strategy and technical projects that require client/ stakeholder interaction
• 5 years’ leading and managing initiatives from initiation to completion of work
• 5 years’ experience using analytical, problem solving, research, and time management skills
• 3 years’ experience managing and mentoring team members
• Experience leading both technology implementations and management consulting / strategic projects
• Experience managing subcontractors and subcontractor relationships (this includes basic contract management) 
• Excellent communication skills and be able to work directly with client technical and management personnel
• Comfort with navigating ambiguity and rapidly evolving client needs.
• Experience working with Agile teams and familiar with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience managing project financials for commercial and/or federal projects

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• PMP or CAPM certification 
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
• Familiarity with project management tools (ie- Trello, JIRA, Rally, etc.) 

EK considers a broad range of factors in considering employee salary including a candidate’s skills, experience, education, certifications, past successes, and qualifications. A range for a starting pay for this role is $110,000 to $150,000 with most candidates likely to fall in the lower half. This range does not guarantee a specific salary and may be adjusted based on the needs of the company and the candidate’s qualifications.
