Hospital-employed Hospitalist group seeks additional Internal Medicine residency-trained physicians to join a robust, rapidly growing practice as Hospitalist in Dothan, Alabama.
This is a 400 bed regional referral in Dothan, Alabama. It manages its own hospitalist program. The current practice includes more than 25 full-time board-certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist physicians. Daily, 12 physicians work the 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. shift and 2 physicians will each have an IM resident provide care during the 7 PM – 7 AM shift. The average daily census is 15-20 patients per provider on the day shift and 9-10 patients per provider on the night shift.
HOSPITALIST PRACTICE HIGHLIGHTS
- Provide coverage for unassigned patients who present to ED requiring inpatient care, care for transfers, and in-hospital consults.
- Admit and co-manage with intensivist support adult patients in critical care–no procedures required.
- 24 / 7 pulmonary / critical care support for all CC admissions.
- Manage patients in the clinical decision unit.
- 24-hour subspecialty support is available for all specialties including the presence of a house radiology physician presence 24 / 7.
- 12-hour work shifts, no call required.
- The average schedule is 16 shifts per month.
