General Summary

PREFERENTIAL HIRING IS OFFERED TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES

Shifts needed are as follows:

• 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday-Friday.

EPSI is hiring day-time and evening shift custodians for evening full time shifts. I

The position performs cleaning projects as well as daily cleaning duties in accordance with standard procedures and educational objectives. Assigned areas may include classrooms, hallways, lounges, lunchrooms/cafeterias, gyms, storage areas, outside common areas, and public restrooms. Work may be performed at one location or multiple locations. EPSI provides all training, supplies and materials.

Essential Duties

· Clean facility floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming them.

· Collect and dispose regular trash and recycle materials.

· Clean, disinfect, sanitize, polish and stock/restock restrooms.

· Replenish hand soap, hand sanitizers, and other supplies as needed.

· Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

· Clean windows, blinds, glass partitions, air vents, and mirrors.

· Dust/wipe furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

· Handle and mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications in compliance with applicable regulations and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

· Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors and setting alarms.

· Notify managers or supervisors when supplies are low, when equipment needs maintenance or needs to be replaced, or when anything at the facility is damaged or not working properly.

· Knows and follows all safety rules and proper procedures associated with the responsibilities of the job.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

· Previous custodial experience in the industry preferred.

· Written and oral communication skills

· Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English

Work Environment

· Physical demands include continuous movement, including frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other use of hands, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. and moving of furniture required.

· Occasional exposure to chemicals such as cleaning solutions, potential exposure to blood and other bodily fluids.
