What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist position at Enterprise Professional Services, Inc.?
This position is responsible for providing vocational rehabilitation and employment services for our direct labor employees throughout the US. This position supports our employees with disabilities in direct labor positions. The Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist participates in new employee hiring; reviewing and evaluating employee disability paperwork; and supporting disabiled employees as they obtain, maintain and advance in meaningful employment.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Coordinates with state, federal, municipal, veteran, and private referral agencies that help find employment for people with disabilities to staff contracts with employees who are well-suited for their designated positions.
· Attends job fairs and marketing initiatives to represent EPSI and to network with job candidates, referral agencies, and other customers.
· Interact with and support managers onsite during the employment application and interviewing process
· Consults with potential and newly hired employees regarding their qualification for the AbilityOne/WorkQuest program regarding any disabilities, functional limitations, treatment, and prognosis of eligible individuals.
· Evaluates disabled employee work capacities and sets reasonable accommodations based upon the details of each individual’s circumstances.
· Completes and maintains an AbilityOne Individual Eligibility Evaluation (IEE) and an Eligibility Determination for federal contractor employees or a WorkQuest CRP Disability Certification Form for state contract employees.
· Maintain case records in accordance with AbilityOne and WorkQuest regulations, along with other funding source regulation, and internal policies.
· Writes, reviews, and revises support plans to ensure documentation and accommodations are current and appropriate.
· Advocate for assigned employees to ensure vocational needs, desires, and goals are known, addressed, and accomplished by providing appropriate guidance and counseling to both the employee and the managers in the effective delivery of case services over each employee’s tenure.
· Follows federal, state, and agency policy and case recording documentation guidelines.
· Uses data to create reports and presentations.
· Travels to different locations as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
· Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree.in a related field
· Professional experience in a behavioral or social science related field is preferred.
· Bilingual skills preferred.
· Valid driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel required. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR).
· Well organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
· Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of an organization.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
· Proficient using Microsoft Office software.
Work Environment
· Works in office areas as well as visits to the employees’ work locations.
· Physical demands include intermittent sitting, standing, and walking, and occasional bending, reaching, and lifting.
· Minimal exposure to chemicals such as cleaning solutions; minimal exposure to blood and other bodily fluids.
