Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a PACU nurse, you will play a crucial role in monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort during the critical recovery period.
Duties
- Assess and monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition post-surgery.
- Administer medications as prescribed and manage intravenous (IV) lines.
- Provide health coaching to patients and their families regarding post-operative care.
- Perform catheter care and assist with trauma medicine as needed.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during patient care.
- Conduct physical examinations and document medical records accurately.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure seamless patient transitions from the operating room to recovery.
- Lift and assist patients as necessary, ensuring their comfort and safety during recovery.
- Participate in ongoing education regarding new treatments, including Botulinum toxin treatment, to enhance patient care practices.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Experience in PACU or critical care nursing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures related to post-operative care.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Must be able to lift patients safely and assist with mobility as required.
- Familiarity with trauma medicine practices is advantageous but not mandatory.
