What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions and Enrollment Counselor position at Enterprise State Community College?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide outreach and support to potential students through all stages of the recruitment cycle – prospect, applicant, admit, enrolled – regardless of student type.
- Create awareness of the college and its offerings to the general public.
- Communicate knowledge of NWSCC admission policies and procedures, general financial aid information, scholarships, and college programs to current and prospective students to help promote successful enrollment at the college.
- Welcome prospective students via walk-in or appointment, in-person or virtually, and provide admissions counseling, registration, and advising services. Conduct follow-up activities such as mailings and call campaigns to facilitate enrollments.
- Develop schedules for high school visits, on- and off-campus events, and recruiting programs to attract traditional and non-traditional students to the college.
- Plan, organize, and provide multi-campus support for campus tours, enrollment workshops, special events, and information sessions to individuals and groups.
- Work with business and industries, area high schools, and career-technical schools to form positive working relationships with business leaders, principals, counselors, prospective students, and other relevant partners. This position will primarily serve Colbert, Lauderdale, and Lawrence counties and be required to travel to schools and businesses throughout the college’s service area.
- Work cooperatively with all departments, divisions, and personnel on campus to identify and take advantage of enrollment management/recruitment opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with appropriate staff and faculty to develop an awareness around program offerings and enrollment goal targets.
- Prepare regular reports of recruitment activities, survey feedback, and prospect/applicant enrollment data to monitor effectiveness of efforts.
- Partner in the development and dissemination of recruitment materials, class schedules, catalogs, and other college literature designed to support enrollment.
- Visit businesses, industries, and school campuses in the service area to cultivate awareness of NWSCC program offerings and promote the college through presentations and one-on-one meetings.
- Attend all workshops and conferences as recommended and approved by the supervisor and participate in job related professional development.
- Complete admissions application and transcript processing activities and data entry.
- Partner with student ambassador team and other student activities.
- Provide support in high school dual enrollment/dual credit application and registration processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel in the service area, required.
- One or more years of work experience in an institution of higher education, preferred.
- Experience working with high schools and community, preferred.
- Marketing and/or sales background and experience making presentations to groups, preferred.

SALARY: Compensation is in accordance with the Alabama Community College System’s Salary Schedule E3-4 ($39,759 - $57,251).
