Position Summary
Coordinator - Rural Postsecondary and Economic Development (RPED) Grant
Salary Schedule: L1 RPED Grant- Grant Funded. ($50,000.00) Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding. This is a non-tenure track position Non-Probationary Status cannot be obtained.
Scope of Responsibilities: Provides support of grant initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Assists the Project Director in planning, organizing, and managing the daily operations of the grant initiatives.
- Oversees the implementation of grant activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Coordinates the development and revision of orientation courses, meta-majors, and instructional leadership programs.
- Monitors project progress by collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on key performance indicators.
- Assists in the preparation of quarterly and annual performance reports for the funding agency.
- Ensures compliance with grant requirements, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Supports the hiring, onboarding, and supervision of project staff and faculty involved in the grant.
- Facilitates collaboration between departments, faculty, and staff to achieve project goals.
- Serves as a liaison between the grant team, campus leadership, and external partners.
- Assists in implementing tutoring and other student support services.
- Develops strategies to engage students in new initiatives, increasing retention and graduation rates.
- Coordinates professional development activities for faculty and staff as part of the instructional leadership academy.
- Helps monitor the project budget to ensure proper allocation and utilization of grant funds.
- Works with the Project Director and financial office to prepare budget reports and adjust expenditures as needed
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Human Resources Services, Psychology, Education, or other related human service degree from a regionally accredited institution,
- One-year experience in counseling at high school or post-secondary level,
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of database and word-processing programs,
- Demonstrated experience working with low-income and/or first-generation college participant populations,
- Excellent oral and written communication skills,
- Experience working with low-income, high risk or under-represented students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree,
- An understanding of and a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the Alabama Community College System,
- Effective written and oral communication skills,
- Ability to organize and work independently,
- Effective interpersonal skills,
- Student coaching experience.
