Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture & Operations
- Design, implement, and manage the architecture of our AWS cloud environment, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee daily operations of our infrastructure, providing guidance and escalation support to our TechOps and DevOps teams.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives, leveraging tools like AWS Billing and reporting to identify savings opportunities.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to design and implement scalable and resilient application architectures utilizing Linux and AWS.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering knowledge sharing, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
Infrastructure Automation & Monitoring
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Ansible to enable consistent and repeatable deployments.
- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions, such as Zenoss, to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Optimize application performance using AWS services like Elasticache and Elasticsearch.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, such as PCI DSS, by leveraging tools like Tenable ASV.
Requirements
Must-Have Technical Expertise (Advanced-Level)
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Deep proficiency in core services, including EC2 (instances, storage, ELB/ALB), Lambda, Route53, and CloudFront.
- Linux Systems: Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu) and VMware Linux VSAN hosts.
- Infrastructure as Code: Mastery of Ansible for automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Monitoring & Logging: In-depth knowledge of Zenoss for infrastructure monitoring and log management.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Expertise in using Veeam for AWS backup and recovery.
- Networking & Security: Familiarity with Cloudflare Enterprise for DDoS protection and AWS WAF/Shield for application security.
- Search & Discovery: Understanding of Endeca for search and discovery solutions.
- Hardware: Experience with Dell PowerEdge VSAN Ready Server Firmware and hardware.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Deep subject matter expertise in cloud infrastructure architecture, with a focus on AWS and Linux.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification (preferred).
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing AWS environments for large-scale applications.
- Strong BASH or Python scripting and automation skills using tools like Ansible.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
