What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Line Cook position at Entre Nous?
Entre Nous is a new 55-seat wine bar in the heart of Clinton Hill from the team behind Fradei Bistro. Inspired by our favorite wine bars in Paris, we offer a 4,000-bottle natural wine list alongside a menu of classic French small plates, chilled seafood, and cheese & charcuterie. Open 6 days a week, Tuesday through Sunday.
We are seeking a lead line cook to join our new kitchen team who is excited to master classic French dishes. The ideal candidate will be excited to take a leadership role in production of mise en place and be confident working both hot and cold stations on the line. Applicants should be passionate, organized individuals who are eager to learn. A good attitude is necessary. If this sounds like you, we would love to meet you!
Qualified candidates must have:
- 2 years of experience working on the line in a busy kitchen environment
- Strong knife skills
- Understanding of classic cooking techniques
- Ability to prep and organize all mise en place for your station
- Ability to maintain your own station throughout a service
- Ability to execute prep production projects in an efficient manner
- A cleanly, organized approach to working that follows NYC DOH protocols
- Open availability and interest in working full-time
Compensation: $21-25/hour
Benefits: Employer-provided 401K program with potential for a lump sum employer contribution after 1 year of employment, based on employee and company performance; paid sick days based on accrual
