Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate closely with HR and accounting teams to maintain accurate records and support corporate accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, utilizing payroll software such as Ceridian or UltiPro.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by calculating and withholding appropriate taxes.
- Manage data entry related to employee hours, deductions, and other payroll-related information.
- Maintain employee records in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and ensure all data is up-to-date.
- Prepare reports on payroll metrics, including debits and credits related to employee compensation.
- Collaborate with the HR department to resolve any payroll discrepancies or employee inquiries.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end tax documents, such as W-2s and 1099s.
- Support corporate accounting functions by providing necessary payroll data for financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role in accounting or human resources.
- Proficiency in payroll software (Ceridian, UltiPro) and accounting software (QuickBooks).
- Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems is preferred.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
