Step into the dynamic role of a Design Engineer I and become a key player in our innovative projects! Collaborate with talented designers and drafters to craft detailed design packages for a variety of environmental and development plans. Your work will span sediment control, grading and site plans, stormwater management, construction phasing, and utility and road plans. You will compile technical reports, ensuring environmental permit compliance, and manage permit modifications and renewals. Apply your technical expertise to bring projects to life, meeting all specifications and standards.
Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid schedule, with the opportunity to work remotely while reporting to our Forest Hill, Maryland office 2-3 days a week. This role offers a perfect blend of hands-on experience and professional growth in a supportive and collaborative environment.
In this role, you are enabled to be at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and utilizing tools such as, Microsoft Copilot, bespoke AI workflow tools, and an IT team dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation to enhance our operations and drive efficiency. All employees can engage with the Digital Transformation Team to support the integration of new tools and following employee ideas to drive success for the business.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
- Must have valid driver's license without restrictions for occasional travel (up to 10% of the position) to local project sites in the Forest Hill area.

- This position pays between $68,000 to $70,000 annually for an exempt position. Benefits offered include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation / parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours. May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
