What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Technician I - Environmental and Permitting position at ENTRUST Solutions Group?
**HYBRID POSITION** 2-3 days in office based on location**
Department: Diverse; PCAT – Permit Compliance and Accountability Tracker
Role Overview: The Environmental and Permitting Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and permits. This position involves entering projects into the system, understanding environmental issues, constraints, and permits, and working on a variety of environmental and permitting projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct plan reviews.
- Perform record research.
- Draft and process various environmental and development-related plans and permits, including but not limited to erosion and sediment control plans, grading plans, site plans, stormwater management, construction phasing plans, utility plans, and road plans.
- Assist with compiling various technical reports and maintaining environmental permit compliance, including applying for permit modifications and renewals.
- Report to managers regarding various drafting, planning, and permitting work.
- Perform NPDES/Sediment Control inspections and construction monitoring as needed.
- Communicate with regulatory agencies at the discretion of managers.
Role Requirements:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret PDFs.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with a few hundred entries per week.
- Experience with diverse projects in the environmental field.
- Ability to read instruction plans and design prints initially.
Additional Skills and Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:
- Experience with Bluebeam and Adobe (preferred).
