Step into the electrifying world of substation projects with our Substation and Transmission team as a Design Engineer I where you'll gain invaluable insights and hands-on experience. As a leader in Substation and Transmission, we specialize in engineering, designing, and upgrading substation infrastructure. In this role, you'll be at the cutting edge of innovation, driving the design and upgrades of these critical systems.
We are seeking a Design Engineer I to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. This role is remote with local travel for occasional site visits and fieldwork.
You'll dive into performing crucial studies and calculations to design substations, including grounding, lighting protection, battery bank sizing, and substation sizing calculations. You'll also support lead engineers and project managers on complex projects, from full scope estimating and proposals, through detailed design and equipment procurement, to project construction bidding and commissioning.
In this role, you are enabled to be at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and utilizing tools such as, Microsoft Copilot, bespoke AI workflow tools, and an IT team dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation to enhance our operations and drive efficiency. All employees can engage with the Digital Transformation Team to support the integration of new tools and following employee ideas to drive success for the business.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Must have a valid driver's license without restrictions for occasional fieldwork and site visits.
