The Mechanical Design Engineering Supervisor will oversee a team of Mechanical Engineering Designers and be directly involved in the mechanical design process of our products. The Supervisor will ensure projects receive adequate support, coordinate closely with Mechanical Engineers to align Designer resource allocation, and contribute to the achievement of annual and strategic goals. This role involves providing technical guidance and promoting a collaborative and innovative workplace. The perfect candidate will have a solid technical background, excellent leadership abilities, and the capability to manage supervisory duties while engaging in project work.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $104,041-$152,593 per year (in the primary posting location). Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience. This position is also eligible for the company’s discretionary annual incentive plan. - Understand product requirements and develop solutions
- Review or create part drawings, solid models and bills of material
- Support design reviews
- Work with suppliers to product parts
- Prototype and test designs
- Technical problem solving
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
Key Actions/Activities
- Supervise and lead team of mechanical designers in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical engineering designs
- Carry out general management duties including recruitment, overseeing performance, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering individual competency development.
- Provide guidance and manage projects efficiently by allocating resources and providing support to ensure the success of colleagues and teams.
- Track team performance relative to annual and strategic goals, ensuring these targets are consistently achieved or surpassed.
- Serve as a point of escalation for resolving issues while offering leadership and direction to the team.
- Facilitating disciplinary decisions and measures
- 5 years of product development experience with at least 2 years of supervisory or leader experience
- Associate’s degree in mechanical design or equivalent
- 3D solid modeling experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD program
- Experience working with mechanical and electromechanical products
- Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US
- Experience with injection-molded, plastic-part design
- Experience with sheet metal, machined part design
- Experience designing products for volume production
- Power transmission design experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Mechanical aptitude with hands on skills
- Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed and organized individual
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to excel in highly interactive team environment
- Commitment to learning and continuous improvement
