This person will be responsible for installing and servicing parking access control, vehicle entry systems, and building access control systems in a geographic area that includes Central and Western, VA to include Richmond, Charlottesville and Roanoke. Equipment includes parking gates, ticket dispensers, license plate recognition cameras, facility management software, slide and swing gate operators, card readers and telephone entry systems as well as integration of these systems into existing networks.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of low-voltage wiring experience
- Experience with basic networking (LAN, WAN & Best Practices)
- Equipment diagnostic and repair experience
- Need to be able to lift at least fifty pounds and be on their feet for much of the day.
Applicants, who compete Mechanical Skills, will receive more favorable consideration in hiring process.
Most of the work will occur outdoors.
Successful candidates must demonstrate a successful track record of troubleshooting and servicing electronic relay systems and possess strong mechanical, PC, and Windows skills. PC and Windows skills include installing, and loading software, troubleshooting error messages, and working with PC Anywhere or a comparable program. Candidate must also demonstrate a working knowledge of network architecture.
This person also will provide operator-level training and interact closely with customers.
After Hours/Weekends/Holidays: This person will be on call periodically and respond to emergency service calls that are called in during non-business hours. Normal business hours currently are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. This person occasionally will work after hours and weekend overtime.
Physical Requirements: This person will be doing physical work inside and outside.
Other Requirements: This person must have an exemplary driving record and no adult criminal record. Must be able to pass Background Check and Drug Screen.
Training: New Technicians are paired with veterans for a training period, which will last for ten to twenty weeks. The technician will also attend manufacturer training. The company's educational assistance program reimburses employees for job-related training and certification programs.
