What is the opportunity?
Based in Vancouver, the Junior Technologist will be involved in a variety of projects in BC and across Entuitive s other offices and assist in maintaining a high level of service for the Building Envelope practice at Entuitive. This will entail working closely with the other service groups in the firm to ensure consistent, consolidated and leading-edge service delivery.
This position will primarily be responsible for drawing production in Revit and occasional AutoCAD related to building envelope projects. You will be working collaboratively with the project team to develop building envelope drawings, primarily for repair, renewal, and rehabilitation projects for existing buildings. We would like to supplement our team with a self-motivated individual, with leadership skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment.
What will you do?
- Building envelope drafting, primarily using Revit with occasional AutoCAD.
- Work in conjunction with the Project Principal, Project Engineer and other members of the design team to complete projects of varying size and complexity from start to finish.
- Develop and maintain building envelope drawing production standards and resources, to improve drafting consistency and efficiency. Tasks will include creating and managing Revit families for building envelope drawing production.
- Work from preliminary concepts, verbal instructions, written specifications, sketches, existing drawings, and photographs to produce construction details, plans, and elevation drawings.
- Coordinate the varying responsibilities associated with managing and producing drawings for building envelope projects, including managing specific files and directories and inter-discipline coordination with outside parties as required.
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and requirements from clients and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
- Work with building envelope specialists during investigations/assessments of existing buildings, to complete quantity takeoffs from existing drawings or prepare drawings for reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with Entuitive s BIM team to stay up to date with our drafting standards and processes.
- Participate in the delivery of a consistently high level of service.
- Such other duties and responsibilities as Entuitive may assign to you from time to time.
Requirements
What do you need to succeed?
- An applicable degree or diploma in CAD, architectural, or engineering technology.
- 2 years of experience in building envelope or architectural drafting.
- Must be proficient in Revit and have a working knowledge in AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Bluebeam or other similar PDF programs.
- Hands on construction or consulting experience and/or work with building envelope systems is considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with people at all levels including project stakeholders and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines on an ongoing basis.
- Ability to manage own workload with minimal supervision.
- Enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail.
- A working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction, with a focus on building envelope systems such as glazing systems, air/vapor barrier systems, roofing assemblies, below grade waterproofing, and cladding assemblies.
- Interest in applying new technology to support project processes.
Benefits
Compensation
The range for this position is between $52,000 to $58,000 annually and based upon experience, qualifications, location, and education. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the British Columbia Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful British Columbia applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in British Columbia or perform the position from British Columbia.
