Brief Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is leading the manufacturing process and team members to meet production goals and objectives. Responsibilities will include but not limited to maintaining a safe and secure work environment; planning and organizing production schedules; overseeing production processes; supporting the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment; controlling manufacturing processes; enhancing team member engagement; and focusing on timely delivery of product to our customers. This individual must be driven to meet production goals, through strategic resource management; maintaining process quality; and achieving results by complying with the implemented management systems.

Manager Role (Inclusive of all upper management positions)

Standard warehouse/manufacturing setting, engineering labs, and production areas; Physically required to regularly walk, sit, bend, twist, stand and reach; Requires flexible working hours and ability to work independently; Dynamic work environment, collaborating with teams in multiple locations; Constantly required to stand, walk, bend, twist, overhead lift and reach in a varied field environment; May lift, carry, pull / push, and reach for supplies and on occasion lifting (up to 50 lbs.) while performing various aspects of the job; Specific vision abilities required by this job are close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; continuous use of vision, hearing and speech; occasionally works indoors in a well-lighted air-conditioned office; Daily contact with the public, other departmental personnel and vendors/clients; Frequently works with surplus and scrap materials, and is required to work outside and/or in an unaired conditioned warehouse.
HOURS / SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm; present to fulfill job duties & meet operational demands/support; schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs thus flexibility is required which could include long days, occasional evening & weekends; minimal travel for business meetings or trainings may be required; Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position

Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for the overall safety performance of the production department supporting the safety programs and policies to include production area housekeeping.
- Implement and manage continuous improvement principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes
- Continually drive increased production line efficiency of the equipment, to meet customer requirements in terms of volume and product quality, with the support of technicians, specialists and engineering.
- Ensure proper adherence to plant operating SOP’s and Quality process controls.
- Effectively work between departments maintaining relationships and alignment
- Analyze downtime, identify trends and develop solutions
- Provides overall management of the Production Operations team ensuring overall safe performance of equipment and team members while sustaining quality of product and timely distribution
- Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing holiday allowances, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximize efficient productivity
- Motivate and coach the team to operational success
- Assess employee performance; provide positive and constructive feedback; provide conflict resolution; complete annual performance review process; address performance issues with corrective actions in performance improvement plans or through disciplinary actions; monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them

- Required – Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronic, Chemical Engineering or related field; in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, minimum 4 years’ experience in a leadership role serving in manufacturing plus the required years of experience listed below
- Minimum 5 years’ extensive manufacturing plant leadership experience
- Project management experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage a 24-hour / 7-day week continuous operation
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, controls and maintenance programs
- Understanding manufacturing processes
- Prefer data collection and analysis experience in a high volume automated manufacturing environment
- Understanding engineering, scientific and other technical information
- Experience of New Product Introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through to production
- Ability to understand and interpret technical manuals, 2D drawings, P&IDs, fluid and electrical schematics and other engineering documentation
- Proven understanding of BOMs, manufacturability, process design, process validation, assembly methods, design reviews and cost reduction methodologies
- Innovative leader with the ability to identify opportunities and influence organizations to gain support and overcome resistance with data and persuasion
- Ability to develop manufacturing documentation
- Capable of identifying critical process parameters and applying statistics to process measurement and control
- Development and qualification of tooling/equipment skills
- Strong organizational skills and proven ability to maintain accurate, detailed records that will be audited periodically
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees and clients
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once with tight deadlines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to identify and execute improvement opportunities through both process improvements and system improvements
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility with little direction
- Ability to be pragmatic in decision making; requires high integrity

- Intermediate level of knowledge in basic hardware and software using of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Work, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Visio, Google Workspace, Outlook/Gmail and web-site software required
