Role Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated IT Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management and maintenance of our organization's network infrastructure, ensuring reliable performance and security. This role requires a deep understanding of computer networking, technical support expertise, and experience with network engineering. The Systems Administrator will work closely with various departments to support and enhance the organization's IT operations. This is a full-time on-site role for an IT Systems Administrator located in Amherst, NH. The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for system and network administration, providing technical support, troubleshooting IT issues, and maintaining information technology systems.

Key Responsibilities :

Network Administration : Oversee and maintain the local area network (LAN) to ensure high availability, performance, and reliable connectivity.
Technical Support : Provide prompt and effective troubleshooting for network-related issues and offer 24 / 7 support to users as needed.
Hardware Installation : Manage the installation of new hardware, including network infrastructure and other essential equipment.
VPN and Remote Support : Set up and maintain Site-to-Site VPNs and provide remote support for users.
Network Analysis : Regularly analyze network traffic and performance metrics to optimize system efficiency and resolve bottlenecks.
Server & Database Management : Supervise the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of servers and databases to ensure smooth operation.
Collaboration & Coordination : Work closely with IT teams to plan and execute network upgrades, enhancements, and system improvements.
Documentation : Maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, procedures, and policies to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.
Security Management : Ensure compliance with industry-standard security protocols to safeguard sensitive data across the network.
Security Oversight : Be responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining network security measures.

Requirements :

Experience : Proven experience in network administration or a related IT field.

Technical Expertise : Strong knowledge of computer networking principles, including LAN, VPN, and network troubleshooting.

Monitoring Tools : Proficiency in network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds (or similar) to assess and maintain network performance.

Server & Database Knowledge : Familiarity with server management, including hardware and software configuration, and basic database administration.

Certifications : Relevant certifications, such as CCNA or CompTIA Network , are highly desirable.

Analytical Skills : Ability to assess network performance, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions.

Project Management : Proven ability to supervise projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.

Communication : Strong communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical staff.

Travel Requirements : Must be willing to travel to California and Pennsylvania as required.

Preferred Qualifications :

In-depth knowledge of network security practices and tools.

Experience with cloud infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments.

Familiarity with scripting or automation tools to improve network management.
