As a highly motivated and detail-oriented Toxicology Intern, you will contribute to the safety assessment of new therapeutic agents. You have a strong foundation in biological sciences, an interest in drug development and in particular, toxicology and safety risk assessments, and a passion for advancing healthcare through innovation!
As part of our Drug Development team, you will report to the VP, Non-Clinical Drug Safety and work closely with the Sr. Director, Toxicology.

The Contribution You Will Make

As part of our Drug Development team, you will report to the VP, Non-Clinical Drug Safety and work closely with the Sr. Director, Toxicology.
You Get To Collaborate On
- Assist in the design and execution of non-clinical toxicology studies under the expert guidance of board-certified Toxicologists.
- Track and manage timelines for exploratory and IND-enabling toxicology studies, identifying relations to efficacy and PK studies, their interdependencies, risks and rate-determining steps.
- Contribute to the collection, analysis and interpretation of data from in vitro and in vivo toxicology and nonclinical studies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including pharmacology, chemistry and clinical development, to integrate toxicology findings and risk assessments into the broader context of drug development.
- Participate in literature reviews to gather relevant information for interpretation of toxicology findings and risk assessment
- Receive training in laboratory safety and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and the use of various software tools relevant to toxicology and safety pharmacology (SP) studies. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines and internal safety policies during the conduct of toxicology/SP studies.
- Receive training in Drug Development and various ICH Guidelines and FDA Guidance to Industry that govern the conduct of Nonclinical studies in drug development.
- Contribute to the writing and summarizing of nonclinical safety study reports to support regulatory filings including pre-IND, IND, IND annual updates, IB, as well as relevant sections to support US and International regulatory filings.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or currently pursuing PhD degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Biology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, excellent prioritization skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Prior laboratory experience, particularly in toxicology or pharmacology, is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated interest in drug discovery and development, with a keen interest in learning about toxicology and non-clinical drug safety assessment.
