What you bring to the table
Your hands-on experience in the Fermentation Lab, working with benchtop fermenters, downstream equipment, and handling essential cleaning tasks. The ability to contribute to scale-up experiments, process optimization, data analysis and ensure SOP compliance, while collaborating with your team and independently. What you will do as a Fermentation Lab Associate
- Prepare benchtop fermenters (1L -13L), including cleaning, assembly, weighing ingredients, and staging and sterilizing supplies.
- Perform lab tasks as necessary including inoculation flask cleaning and assembly, sample collection, media preparation.
- Perform aseptic techniques for sample collection, processing, and monitoring of fermenters to ensure contamination-free operations.
- Cleaning, calibration, and basic maintenance of probes and equipment.
- Colony enumeration by pour plate, and quadrant streaking for isolation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of fermentation lab work areas.
To succeed you must hold:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Science required.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in Microbial physiology/Fermentation required.
- Experience with Infors HT Lab-scale Fermenters (1L-13L), spray dryers, and fermentation automation software would be beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Standard laboratory methods and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office.
