About the Job:
This internship offers a chance to support, implement, and lead community outreach programs at Environment for the Americas. The primary focus will be on increasing diverse community engagement with National Park Service partners during the program and beyond.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute outreach plans to promote fishing and birding activities among local communities
* Create engaging materials, such as social media content, educational games, and signage, to provide visitors with information about fish and birds at National Park Service sites
* Educate participants on regulations regarding fishing and ethical birding practices
* Establish or enhance fishing and birding programs at National Park Service sites
* Manage and maintain program equipment
* Meet deadlines for Environment for the Americas program requirements
Requirements:
* Ability to hike and conduct field operations as part of a team and/or independently in an outdoor setting
* Experience giving presentations and ability to learn new skills and transfer knowledge to participants
* Interest in learning fishing regulations and bird identification for program development and implementation
* Ability to learn methods employed in fish and wildlife management
* Strong interpersonal, oral, listening, and written communication skills
