Position: Environmental Sales Consultant

Overview:

The Environmental Sales Consultant is responsible for driving sales within a designated territory, developing and presenting comprehensive tree care plans, and ensuring the highest standards of customer service and project execution. This role requires proactive lead generation, accurate documentation, collaboration with internal teams, and strict adherence to company protocols.

Objective:

Maximize sales, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure timely, high-quality service delivery. Your success in this role will contribute to Environmental Advantage’s growth, reputation, and long-term customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Leadership and Territory Growth

  • Drive sales objectives within the assigned territory, expanding and nurturing a customer portfolio.
  • Engage with leads generated by Environmental Advantage and cultivate your own leads, securing repeat business.
  • Set appointments with potential customers to assess project requirements, educate them on proper tree care, and present tailored Environmental Advantage tree health care packages.
  • Create and present comprehensive proposals and ensure all documentation is accurately completed and promptly submitted.
  • Follow up after service completion to confirm customer satisfaction, encourage referrals, and foster long-term relationships.

2. Proposal Generation and Communication Excellence

  • Expediently develop clear, detailed proposals that reflect Environmental Advantage’s pricing models and service offerings.
  • Maintain open, transparent communication with customers, ensuring clarity, trust, and positive rapport throughout the sales and project lifecycle.

3. Project Oversight and Documentation

  • Translate customer requirements into detailed work orders for seamless execution by the production team.
  • Regularly monitor project progress, proactively address challenges, and ensure services align with customer expectations.
  • Maintain accurate internal reports and ensure all work orders and related documentation are uploaded promptly.

4. Quality Assurance and Customer Satisfaction

  • Implement and oversee stringent quality control measures, ensuring all projects meet or exceed company benchmarks.
  • Engage directly with customers to gauge satisfaction, address feedback promptly, and uphold the company’s reputation for excellence.

5. Team Collaboration and Strategy

  • Work closely with fellow Sales Consultants, Crew Leaders, and the Sales Manager to streamline operations, share insights, and refine sales strategies.
  • Participate in collaborative problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts to enhance overall team performance.

6. Financial Management and Accountability

  • Handle invoicing processes diligently, ensuring timely revenue capture and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor project budgets, balancing profitability with quality deliverables.

7. Branding and Representation

  • Uphold Environmental Advantage’s values in all interactions, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and industry best practices.
  • Serve as the face of the company, building strong relationships with customers and reinforcing Environmental Advantage’s brand promise.

8. Regulatory and Guideline Adherence

  • Follow all company guidelines, best practices, and ethical standards to maintain consistency and compliance.
  • Champion Environmental Advantage’s reputation by ensuring all operations meet regulatory requirements.

9. Administrative and Project Coordination Support

  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports, updated weekly.
  • Collaborate with team members, providing support in project coordination and ensuring that all documentation and work orders are readily accessible.
  • Remain available to answer questions from customers or team members, contributing to efficient, well-informed project execution.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education and Certification: A degree in arboriculture, forestry, horticulture, or a related field is advantageous. Certifications (e.g., Certified Arborist, Tree Risk Assessment Qualification) are a plus.
  • Experience: Prior experience in tree care, sales, or customer service is essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM systems and project management tools for lead tracking, proposal creation, and documentation.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, adaptability, resilience, and multitasking abilities. Be open to change, embrace continuous professional development, and actively seek opportunities to grow.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to conduct occasional field visits, assess site conditions, and interact with customers and crews on-site.

  • Month 3: Refine sales techniques through role-play, enhance communication skills, and gain proficiency in proposal writing, project coordination, and service articulation.
  • Month 4: Begin conducting independent sales consultations, initiate lead generation efforts, and confidently prepare for the transition to a commission-based compensation structure.

A detailed training roadmap is available, outlining every phase of your onboarding, ensuring you have the guidance, tools, and support needed to excel.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Onboarding Base Pay:
  • Monthly Base Pay: $3,333 for up to 3 months during training and onboarding
  • A 3-month review with the Sales Manager determines readiness to move forward with a commission-based pay structure.
  • Commission Structure:
  • Base Commission: 10% of gross sale under ideal conditions.
  • Additional bonuses for 5-star reviews, self-generated leads, and multi-service bundles.
  • Commission adjustments apply if project timeframes exceed designated thresholds without valid setbacks.
  • Payments processed bi-weekly, with prepay and NET 15 options.
  • Benefits:
  • Health, Vision, & Dental Coverage: Company covers 50% of the employee’s premium.
  • Company Vehicle (Must have a good driving record and is after onboarding, to be determined by Sales Manager)
  • SIMPLE IRA with 3% company match.
