Environmental and Safety Solutions is looking for an experienced Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) to join our team for an exciting construction project in Chesapeake, Maryland! - Manage safety orientation program and provide ongoing job-specific safety training.
- Coordinate and conduct safety meetings, to include materials, agendas, minutes, and attendance.
- Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log.
- Conduct investigations and complete required reports.
- Maintain the OSHA Form 300 and Daily Production reports for prime and subcontractors.
- Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Develop, implement, and enforce accepted Accident Prevention Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis.
- Ensure personnel and subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
- Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material safety data sheets.
- Ability to organize tasks and work efficiently without direct supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be familiar with construction safety
- Must be able to work on boats and barges
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of dredging experience
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of SSHO experience
- Must have current First Aid/CPR certification training
- Must have attended recent EM-385 training and have annual training records current
- Must be a good communicator and team oriented.
- Must be able to advise on OSHA, EM-385, EPA and other pertinent safety and environmental requirements.
- Must have experience providing safety at a large and complex job site.
