The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The Seasonal Technician in this position would, under supervision, assist in the monitoring and management of threatened and endangered shorebird species. The appointee will conduct site surveys, monitor nesting pairs, construct and maintain protective fencing, record relevant data and interact with the public regarding endangered shorebird issues. The Technician in this position would also assist with other regional wildlife programs including the monitoring and management of endangered species; non-game species; game species; and nuisance wildlife. The person in the position may also assist in posting boundaries on state managed lands, performing land management activities including trail maintenance, grassland management and facility maintenance. Work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at interview. The position may require early morning, evening and night work. Weekend work may be required.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.

Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview. Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.Must be able to work in remote areas.Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
