The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Duties include: conducting surveys for forest/young forest and grassland birds, nightjars, raptors, bats, small mammals and assist with surveys for other regional wildlife projects; assisting with data entry, data summarization and completion of summary reports related to work on these and other projects; responsible for maintaining, inventorying, and preparing equipment for use. Incumbent should have a demonstrated ability to identify northeastern bird species by sight and sound. Experience in the use of GPS, GIS and Excel are required. Experience in identifying vegetation and recording measurements in the field and identifying habitat types from aerial photographs is desirable. Position involves travel from the office to study sites and will require long days and frequent early morning and evening hours. Rabies pre-exposure vaccination is preferred.
