SOI Qualified Field Archaeologist - $55,000 to $60,000/year commensurate with experience and location
Environmental Corporation of America has an immediate need for a full time Secretary of the Interior Qualified Archaeologist currently living or willing to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia. Upon hire, applicants must live within a reasonable commute to a major airport. We are seeking one Field Archaeologist for infrastructure development projects including transportation, energy, telecommunications, water infrastructure, and land development.
Responsibilities:
· Travel to assigned projects weekly
· Conduct pedestrian survey and shovel test pits
· Maintain detailed and legible field notes, photographs, and forms
· Contribute to the preparation of Archaeological Site Forms, Archaeological/Architectural Resource Assessment Reports, and other deliverables within assigned due dates
· Timely coordination and communication with other staff members
Qualifications:
· A graduate degree in Anthropology or Archaeology with an emphasis in Archaeology
· Must meet the Secretary of the Interior Archaeology Qualification Standards
· A minimum of one year of full-time professional experience
· At least 4 months of supervised field and analytic experience in general North American archaeology
· Ability to travel overnight across the U.S. (typically Monday through Friday of each week)
· Ability to work eight or more hours per day in physically demanding environments
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF
· Ability to conduct background research using various map and records databases
· Working knowledge of Section 106 and NRHP criteria
· Interest in environmental studies (NEPA) is also a plus
