Job summary
The Lab Technician, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, is responsible for the operation of the Standard Oxygen Transfer Efficiency (SOTE) Testing program and assisting with other lab department activities as required.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Generate SOTE test protocols per customer specification and EDI design
- Install and remove equipment in outdoor test tank
- Conduct SOTE Tests in accordance with ASCE standards and test protocol
- Analyze test result data via VBA enabled Excel spreadsheet
- Generate SOTE Report in accordance with ASCE standards
- Troubleshoot test equipment when necessary
- Coordinate with Engineer Manager, Project Manager, and others on test schedule and equipment required
Qualifications
- Preferred certificate, associate or bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline
- Strongly preferred 1 years of experience with instrumentation and measurements
- Ability to read and interpret customer specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail; well organized.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs; Word and Excel in particular.
Physical / Work Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to perform routine tasks. Outdoor work and the use of stairs and ladders are necessary in this role. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms must be able lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
