Position Summary
Supervise, plan and coordinate a variety of environmental compliance and protection activities and operations within the Air Quality division of the Environmental Health Department including either air pollution control, environmental services, coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public; and provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to assigned Environmental Health Manager, Associate Director and/or Director.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental health or science, public health administration, or engineering; and
Six (6) years experience in environmental health compliance; and
To include three (3) years supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
When assigned to the Air Quality Programs:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Depending on position, may require the possession of OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and/or refresher training within one (1) year from date of hire into position.

- Principles and practices of ambient air monitoring using EPA approved methods
- Principles and practices of scientific instrumentation, data acquisition systems and systems integration
- Principles and practices of EPA quality management and assurance documents
- Scope and application of federal, state, and Albuquerque/Bernalillo Air Quality Control Board laws and regulations pertaining to air quality enforcement programs
- All pertinent federal, state, and local permitting, enforcement, and appeals processes as it relates to environmental compliance issues
- Inspection techniques sufficient to be able to determine what information is needed, gather and analyze desired information and input information onto check lists and into reports
- Local ecosystems and the environmental factors that influence them
