Job Summary
General Manager is responsible for the overall management, operations, and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility, including building and grounds. This role combines on-site personnel oversight and administrative and planning duties. The General Manager ensures site safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. Success in this role requires strong leadership, fiscal responsibility, and the ability to develop and implement continuous improvement programs.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Development :
Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision to site personnel.
Conduct performance reviews and implement professional development initiatives.
Operational Oversight :
Management of the Fiscal P&L for the Site.
Manage facility operations to meet regulatory requirements and design specifications.
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for site efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintain site cleanliness and readiness for inspections or customer visits.
Facility and Grounds Maintenance :
Oversee and ensure proper maintenance of the facility, equipment, and surrounding grounds.
Coordinate All aspects of maintaining the Facility in peak operational condition.
Safety & Compliance :
Collaborate with SG and Fairlife Safety Staff to ensure adequate training and compliance with safety standards.
Document training programs and maintain up-to-date records.
Role Responsibilities :
Operate the Site within the Fiscal Goals and Objectives of the Site.
Perform administrative tasks, including report writing and data analysis, to support site operations to assure regulatory compliance.
Use virtual tools and communication platforms to coordinate with corporate leadership and team members.
Contract & Resource Management :
Oversee the work of contractors to ensure adherence to project requirements.
Advise on the requisition and inventory of tools, materials, and equipment.
Preventive Maintenance & Repairs :
Drive and oversee the site’s preventive maintenance program.
Identify and prioritize necessary repairs and ensure their execution.
Reporting & Communication :
Prepare and submit necessary reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Address operational challenges in collaboration with corporate leadership.
Training & Policy Enforcement :
Implement and manage training programs for site staff.
Assure compliance with company handbook policies and procedures.
Financial Planning :
Prepare the site’s operations and maintenance budget.
Additional Duties :
Review construction, repair, or replacement plans for site components.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge and Skills
Strong Knowledge of Profit and Loss Reporting
Strong understanding of site policies, procedures, and safety measures.
Knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used in operations, maintenance, and inspections.
Familiarity with landscaping, grounds maintenance, and facility upkeep practices.
Ability to analyze operational data, plan work assignments, and make sound decisions.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering specifications and drawings.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
Education and Experience
College diploma required, technical education in operations, engineering, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Minimum of 2 years managing to a Profit and Loss Statement
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred Skills
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with preventive maintenance software.
Experience with Profit and Loss Statements
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Comfort working in varying environmental conditions, including outdoor settings.
