EOI is seeking a full-time, initiative-taking, and ambitious Field Technician to be an integral part of our Industrial Hygiene services team. The Field Technician is responsible for performing inspections and oversight related to environmental health and industrial hygiene services. The primary function of this role is to perform sampling activities related to various environmental media, including soil, water, asbestos, lead, and mold. The candidate will be trained to analyze results and prepare reports documenting sampling results; perform oversight of abatement activities; and sampling indoor air quality (IAQ) in collaboration with other team members. EOI provides opportunities for upward mobility and advancement. Advancement is based on the candidate’s ability to learn, service clients and demonstration collaborative ability and teamwork. In addition to working in the industrial hygiene field, the candidate will be exposed to a wide variety of other environmental service areas so the candidate can determine what areas of work provide the most interest.
Position will be based out of our St. Louis, MO company headquarters with travel work opportunities throughout the nation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
(80%) Performs oversight for remediation oversight and sampling projects This work may include, but is not limited to:
· Inspecting/analyzing various media including, water, soil, lead, asbestos, mold, indoor air quality, etc.
· Maintaining field and sampling logs for project sites.
· Preforming third party oversight for abatement projects.
· Collecting air samples for abatement oversight projects.
· Conducting tests to determine the volatility of organic compounds.
· Assisting with decisions regarding soil removal and placement.
· Managing soil manifest for the landfills, tracking soil origin and destination.
(20%) Prepares documentation and reports for review by the project managers. This work may include but is not limited to preparing field logs and reports.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree Environmental Science, Biology, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related, required.
· Ability to travel locally to various work sites in designated multi-state territory (20%).
· Flexible work schedule subject to project scope.
· Proficient in technical writing and environmental report generation, required.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
