Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation. All conditions of the pre-employment security process must be met before an official letter of employment can be issued with a report for duty date.If you are selected, you may be required to complete a one-year probationary period if appointed as Competitive Service or a two-year trial period if appointed as Excepted Service.REAL ID requirements will become effective on 05 / 07 / 25.   • specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level defined as photography / historic visual documentation using DSLR or mirrorless camera systems on site, in the field and in a studio environment; designing, developing and producing visual images and media; managing or assisting in the operations of a photography studio; training others in onsite, field and studio photography techniques; using desktop publishing software applications to process photos and portrait photos, as well as produce visual materials; advising customers and management on photographs and visual media products, services, resources, and / or funding; and assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures for photography production and photography studio operations.Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas : Knowledge of formal and informal photography standards and techniques.Skill in program development and planning to accomplish organization priorities.Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information to various audiences.Skill in photographic and graphics production and software editing.Ability to capture visual media with diverse technology.Skill in planning, organizing and directing the work of others in the development of visual products and services.Knowledge of specialized photography skills and equipment.Ability to work with partners to ensure development and execution of strategic goals.Knowledge of new visual technologies and techniques.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
