Qualifications:
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as advising on environmental management issues for policy or regulatory development; and coordinating environmental justice initiatives, programs, or activities.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
- Knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of environmental programs and policy.
- Knowledge of guidance related to the implementation of environmental justice rules and regulations under Executive Orders 12898 and 13895.
- Ability to lead staff by evaluating work performance and giving advice, counsel, and instruction.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Responsibilities:
You will:
- Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the organizational unit, ensuring that they comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
- Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
- Represent the Agency with a variety of functional area organizations.
- Serve as a technical advisor and assistant to the Supervisor, Environmental Justice and Tribal Affairs, on issues pertaining to the Regional Environmental Justice program and the Regional Tribal Affairs program.
