We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Senior FP&A Analyst to join our team. This role requires a professional with a minimum of five years' experience in financial planning and analysis, capable of working independently and collaboratively. The successful candidate will partner closely with the FP&A Manager and the Director of Operations to lead the annual financial planning, monthly and quarterly forecasting, and monthly reporting processes for assigned territory. This individual will play a critical role in providing financial leadership and guidance to achieve company objectives, bringing innovative solutions to complex problems, and enhancing processes across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting
Review, streamline and improve the business planning and budgeting process for your assigned division.
Challenge business planning assumptions and ensure planning assumption are aligned with the company strategy.
Leads the annual budgeting/planning & forecast cycles for your assigned divisions. Collaborate with business partners to monitor revenue & expense performance indicators to provide guidance and insight into the financial forecasts.
Develop market and scenario planning analyses.
Participate in the preparation of business plans and budgets for specific assigned operations/regions/divisions
Partner with and assist General Managers and Operation Managers with the preparation of business plan presentations.
Prepare budget and projection model for the operations and relevant support functions.
Business Analysis
Own the monthly financial management report for your assigned division, be the expert and single point of contact on the “why” behind the numbers and provide actionable insights to management.
Perform ad hoc operational and financial analysis to support business leaders; support operational decisions, cost improvement programs, financial improvements etc.
Provide guidance and support to Director of Operations, Regional General Managers and Operations Managers ensuring financial tools are utilized and internal controls and accounting processes are understood and followed.
Identify key drivers impacting revenue, costs, and EBITDA, and recommend methods to enhance financial performance.
Develop and manage Key Business Indicators (KBIs) and monitor performance using data analyses and system tools.
Perform deep-dive analyses on operations, regions, and overhead sites and recommend specific areas for improvement.
Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations.
Additional Analysis and Support:
Develop and improve financial reporting tools and dashboards to facilitate better decision-making.
Monitor unbilled revenue balances, oversee accounts receivable balances, review expense accruals (GRNI) and other applicable items.
Prepare and consolidate monthly projections, report on variances, and upload projections.
Partner with commercial teams and determine profitability of the business by analyzing service lines.
Interface on behalf of the operations with the functional teams to address issues and resolve problems.
Coordinate with IT to streamline and automate historically de-centralized analytical processes; constantly seek ways to integrate technology into financial processes.
Ensure data accuracy in all reporting.
Develops proposals to mitigate / enhance risks and opportunities with sufficient lead time.
Change Management & Special Projects: Responsible for developing & improving processes to enhance efficiencies, as well as offering novel solutions & perspectives aligned with company goals.
Accountable for any ad hoc special projects as they arise.
Work with fleet management team on capital expenditure analysis and business case submittals.
Work closely with other teams within the organization, including operations, leadership, and the business performance team.
Support safety and operational team leaders on compiling safety data and metrics
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
5 or more years’ experience in Financial Planning and Analysis.
Proficient in Excel, Work, Power Point, Outlook, and Teams.
Experience with financial modeling and framing decisions with data.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to all levels of the organization and translate detailed analysis into actionable insights and recommendations.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to take initiative, set objectives, and drive change.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build consensus among various stakeholders.
Ability to travel up to 10% - 20%.
