Summary/Main purpose: Responsible for overall management of multiple construction projects.
Essential Duties:
Assists in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals & deadlines, and evaluating job & project performance.
Ensures construction projects are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction.
May communicate directly with contractors, designers and owner.
Prepares and monitors job costs and project schedules.
Prepares and submits pay applications
Prepares status reports and assists or plans daily scheduling.
Ensures that work meets the plans & specifications, quality control standards, and company policy.
Familiarity with a variety of project concepts, practices and procedures.
Maintains logs, and completes; contractor submittals, requests for information and changes of proposals to provide a summarized source of information pertinent to the project.
Reviews and approves contractors’ invoices for payment.
Leads and directs the work of others as well as evaluates performance at appropriate evaluation times.
Depending on project requirements may be called upon to function at any level of crew, including working with tools.
Other duties as assigned.
Educational & work experience:
Requires 5-10 years of progressive construction experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity. Requires an Associates degree, Certificate, or related work experience in Project Management as a minimum. Other degrees may be acceptable. Experience substitution may be considered in lieu of education requirements.
Skills required:
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, solid math skills, project management software experience, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, ability to listen, ability to comprehend, ability to mentor & direct and the ability to lead by example.
Licenses/Certifications:
LEED AP, CPM, CE, BIM, PMP
Supervision:
This position reports to the Senior Project Manager, or Chief Operating Officer. Project Superintendents will report to this position, as well as Foremen and Laborers depending on project structure.
Work Hours:
Normally Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. May require additional hours depending on the projects.
Working conditions:
Variety of working conditions, including office and field settings. Outdoor conditions could be in inclement weather and hot or cold extremes. Outdoor conditions could also include unstable ground conditions, overhead conditions and underground conditions.
Physical requirements:
Good visual acuity, ability to hear all ranges of sounds, good walking ability, able to stand for up 4 hours, able to sit for up to 4 hours, proper balance. May occasionally involve bending or stooping for long periods of time, or exposure to one or more disagreeable elements such as weather, dust and dirt.
