What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Bioinformatics Analyst position at Envisagenics?
Job description
Envisagenics is an RNA therapeutics company located at the Alexandria Center in Long Island City, New York. The company uses Artificial Intelligence and RNA-seq to help find cures to diseases caused by RNA splicing errors. This role will be a part of Envisagenics’ Target Discovery team but will also require close collaboration with Envisagenics’ Biology Team.
This role calls for a highly analytical, scientific and innovation-driven Senior Bioinformatics Analyst to participate in and improve drug target validation. You will attend weekly lab meetings with the Biology Team to track the status of target validations, help plan assays from the bioinformatics perspective, identify bottlenecks that can be alievated with computational tools and present the results of bioinformatics analyses on internally-generated lab data. You will work with a multidisciplinary group that combines software engineers, data scientists, computational biologists, and biologists.
A great candidate is one who is passionate about advancing the speed and quality of drug target validations to cure yet-incurable diseases. That great candidate will have post-academic experience with bulk and single-cell RNA-seq data analysis, multiomics data analysis including but not limited to genomics, eCLip, Riboseq, etc., statistics, and bioinformatics software implementation with a strong emphasis on biological interpretation and problem solving. That great candidate will be excited about developing analytical approaches, hypothesis driven data interrogation methodology, and creative communication of results for the validation of therapeutic targets to make fundamental contributions to Envisagenics’ understanding of disease biology and therapy.
Compensation will vary based on how many years of post-academic work experience you have and other factors. ALL EMPLOYMENT OFFERS WILL COME WITH STOCK OPTIONS IN A GROWTH MODE BIOTECH STARTUP!
