Impact Academy of Arts and Technology High School seeks Instructional Aides for the 25-26 School Year to provide support for students with learning or behavioral needs in our full-inclusion Special Education program. Reporting to the Principal, the Instructional Aide will collaborate closely with Special Education and core subject Teachers, working 1-on-1 and in small groups to guide students to success.

The Instructional Aide may work with a specific student, or with small groups of students who require Special Education services to support academic progress. The Instructional Aide works as part of the Learning Center and intervention teams. Responsibilities include :
Assists Learning Specialist (Special Education Teacher) and general education teachers to support students with learning or behavioral needsFollows and implements intervention plans or processes to provide service and support to students to meet IEP goals or intervention plan goalsAssists with collecting and recording observational data related to academic progress or behavior managementOrganization of special education files, student learning records, data entry related to maintaining on-line IEPs, assists with record keepingUnder supervision of Learning Specialists, and without analysis, assists with screenings or assessments, including formal documentation, preparing materials and performing clerical supportDocuments student progress towards meeting established objectivesAssists Learning Specialist with communication related to implementing intervention strategies, IEP services or complianceLearns and utilizes basic methods and procedures in instructional settingsUnderstands and communicates the mission, goals, standards, policies procedures, confidentiality standards, operating instructions, values of Envision Schools and the Special Education programPerforms other related duties as required and assignedQUALIFICATIONS :
Associates degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferredCommitment to the mission and vision of Envision EducationCommitment to anti-racist and pro-Black ideologies in the workplace.Knowledge of adolescent growth, development and behavior characteristics; concepts of cognitive development and different learning stylesAbility and willingness to support every student with learning needs and to implement students' IEPs or behavior support plansAbility to assist students in various subject areasFlexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions; ability and good judgment to take initiative to modify activitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to collaborate with general education and special education colleagues, parents and communitySolid technology skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, or other database program, and Internet searchDesire to work and learn as part of an innovative special education and school teamAbility and willingness to reflect and improvePrior experience working with secondary students with learning needs and a diverse student bodyCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS :
Competitive pay with benefits, pay commensurate with education and experience range $24 - $31 / hour. This is an 11 month, non-exempt, 40 hours per week position.
