In fact, early screening, diagnosis, and treatment can help children with hearing loss develop speech, language, and social skills. As a Newborn Hearing Screening Supervisor , you will help support and provide families with valuable information about their babies hearing screen results.
We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to join our dynamic team in the Newborn Nursery/NICU at Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, FL. In this position, you will work on-site performing state mandated hearing screens on newborns and supervising the operations and management of the program. This part time position will enable the right person to work approximately 20 hours per week including weekends and holidays. Our program operates 7 days a week 365 days a year, and schedules are provided a month in advance.

Paid Time Off: Envision Healthcare offers paid time off, 9 observed holidays and paid family leave. You accrue Paid Time Off (PTO) each pay period and depending on your position and can earn a minimum of 20 days and up to 25 days per calendar year.
Qualifications

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1 or more years of healthcare related experience preferred
- Previous supervisory experience is a plus
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification- Company will provide upon the agreement of job offer

- Verify patient information and obtain consent from parent prior to performing the hearing screen
- Perform newborn hearing screening on all infants using the AABR technology in the nursery and NICU prior to discharge from the hospital and provide screening results to parents
- Answer general questions and inquiries as well as provide written information to the parents regarding the hearing screen procedures, results, and next steps
- Responsible for all State Reporting
- Establish a cadence of communication with EHDI State Coordinators
- Adhere to all HIPAA, PHI and OSHA guidelines
- Participate in the supervision and daily operation of the hearing screening program, including shift coverage and preparation of monthly hearing screen technician schedule
- Process bi weekly payroll for all hearing screening technicians including the review, edit and approval of time records
- Aid in recruitment and identify staffing needs
- Acts as main point of contact at hospital.
- Interact and develop relationships with hospital departments and Program Medical Director to ensure effective level of collaboration
- Participate in the implementation and organization of the hearing screening program
- Maintain a working knowledge of behavioral and HR staff issues and report staff issues appropriately to Practice Management and provide both verbal and written disciplinary documentation
