As an Ultrasound Technician you will operate an ultrasound machine to produce diagnostic sonograms. You will perform invasive procedures directed by the guidance of Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians in accordance with the established standards and practices of Envision Healthcare.

Monday-Friday position; no weekends, nights or holidays!

Responsibilities

These are your responsibilities :

• Obtains clear, complete images and accurate measurements as required for all ultrasound studies
• Completes timely and accurate documentation
• Presents findings to the supervising physician
• Assist physicians in minor procedures and other capabilities as required
• Maintains patient privacy at all times
• Maintains appropriate demeanor and professional communication with patients throughout the ultrasound exam
• Orients, trains, mentors, and precepts new employees and students, where applicable.
• Maintains clinical procedure reference guides and ensures all procedures are followed with regard to ultrasound service standards.
• Answers questions and serves as a resource for Ultrasound Technicians and staff.
• Demonstrates leadership skills and is regarded by physicians and colleagues as a team lead.
• Serves as a first point of contact for questions related to the specialty of sonography.
• Stays current with trends in ultrasound care, provides in-services as needed to physicians and staff to communicate most current standards of care.
• Serves as ultrasound tech leader in preparation for AIUM accreditation while gathering and submitting information in a complete and timely manner to the physician or manager.
• Coordinates equipment and reporting system service, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Provides recommendations to managers during system upgrades and coordinates training for system upgrades.
  
  

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

Education/Experience

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
• Minimum 1 year experience in OB ultrasound
• Maternal Fetal Medicine experience preferred
  
  

Certifications and Licenses

• RDMS certification is required
  
  

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Experience with ultrasound reporting systems is required.
• Experience with EHR preferred
