The Gateway Center of Monterey County Board of Directors seeks a visionary leader to drive organizational growth and innovation. As the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the team in securing new funding sources, developing strategic partnerships, and implementing effective programs.

Program Overview

We offer various programs, including Residential Services, Reindollar Care Home, Supported Living Services, Independent Living Services, and Day Program Services.

  • Residential Services: Providing 24-hour comprehensive care and habilitative services for adults with high-level care needs
  • Reindollar Care Home: A 4-bed residential care home offering 24-hour care and supervision for individuals with high needs
  • Supported Living Services: Life skills training and support services within the comfort of their own home
  • Independent Living Services: Life skills training, including money management, health and safety, personal hygiene, and social/personal skills
  • Day Program Services: Community integration through socialization, self-advocacy, safety skills, and community and educational enhancement opportunities

About the Role

The Chief Executive Officer will oversee the development and management of daily operations, programs, employees, and facilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and developing a strong leadership team
  • Providing oversight to the overall organization
  • Representing Gateway Center's mission to clients, families, donors, volunteers, community partners, and the community
  • Elevating the organization's public profile, brand, and reputation by evaluating and executing strategic opportunities and strengthening community relationships
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding Gateway Center's activities and programs

Ideal Candidate Qualities and Qualifications

Action-oriented, entrepreneurial leaders who enjoy leadership, building major funding relationships, and partnerships, strengthening programs, and maintaining a strong, effective organization. You're most fulfilled when empowering teammates to identify, leverage, and amplify their unique skills and talents.

You bring:

  • At least 5 years of senior non-profit leadership and management experience. Financial management, board development, and communications/public relations skills are a must
  • At least 5 years of experience successfully managing direct reports, including building trust and fostering transparency and communication
  • Demonstrated skills in sound fiscal management, including budget preparation, analysis, reporting, and ongoing oversight, as well as long-term planning
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing fundraising growth plans, including increasing and diversifying revenue streams
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively communicate in a variety of formats and venues in both casual and formal contexts
  • Direct experience working with a Board of Directors to cultivate existing and new board member relationships
  • Healthcare leadership experience preferred
