The Opportunity

Gateway Center of Monterey County seeks a strategically minded Executive Director to lead the organization into the future. The Executive Director will work on-site with staff and board to provide strong organizational leadership and stewardship.

The Organization

Gateway Center is a private, not-for-profit community-based organization providing services for adults with developmental disabilities.

Key Assets

Services

Gateway Center offers residential services, supported living services, independent living services, and day program services.

Residential Services

Two Intermediate Care Facilities provide 24-hour comprehensive care and habilitative services.

Supported Living Services

Life skills training and support services are provided in individuals' homes.

Independent Living Services

Life skills training includes money management, health and safety, personal hygiene, social/personal skills, mobility training, and leisure/recreation.

Day Program Services

The Community Adult Development Center provides community integration with socialization, self-advocacy, safety skills, and educational enhancement opportunities.

Position Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop a strong leadership team
• Provide oversight to the overall organization
• Elevate the organization's public profile and reputation
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Ideal Candidate Qualities and Qualifications

Action-oriented leader who enjoys building major funding relationships and partnerships.

Minimum qualifications include:

• At least 5 years of senior non-profit leadership experience
• Financial management and communications/public relations skills
• Demonstrated success developing fundraising growth plans
• Experience working with a Board of Directors

Salary and Benefits

The salary range is $150k to $180k annually, with current benefits including paid time off, medical insurance, and a 401K plan.
