ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE / COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST (ON SITE)

Summary
We are looking to add to our Accounting team, an Accounts Receivable Specialist with an excellent record in collections, strong work ethic, great communication and organization skills, and works well individually and as part of a team. Candidate must have taken the initiative to reduce % of collections and improve the overall financial status or prior companies worked for.
Responsibilities
- Run weekly aging report and monitor past due accounts.
- Enter and post customer payments daily. Keep track of all money received
- Make collection calls and send emails to collect payments on past due accounts
- Research and resolve discrepancies by working with other departments
- Reconcile the open A/R balances with customers by emailing invoices and statements
- Maintain a minimum of 1200 active accounts (large and small)
- Complete daily cash applications
- Resolve customer issues to optimize cash collection
- Reconcile discrepancies between: the Balance Sheet & the Aging Report
- Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits
- Work with other departments to meet overall customer satisfaction.
- Generate statements & create an AR report of all accounts
Requirements:
Prior work experience in Accounts Receivable / Collections
Enjoys and can keep up working in a fast-paced environment.
Potential candidate must be able to pass a background check.
Understanding of Accounting principles (GAAP)
Knowledge of fair credit practices & collection regulations
Ability to calculate, post & manage accounting figures and financial records
Negotiate payment arrangements based on company's guidelines
Customer Service skills are required when communicating, making calls and sending emails to our customers
Must have knowledge in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Oracle NetSuite is preferred
Must have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Typing 45 wpm
Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to meet the overall customer satisfaction.
Other tasks and assignments will be given as needed. Requirements may change accordingly.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Flexibility to work OT and/or weekends as necessary
Work Location: On-site, Bell, Ca.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Department Basics: individual cubicles, call center, office environment. Noise level varies and depends on volume of calls.
