Location: Boone, NC

POSITION: Clinic Staff – Part Time or Full-time potential

RESPONSIBLE TO: Practice Managers, Mid-Level Providers, and Physicians

JOB SUMMARY:

Primary responsibility will be to check patients in/out of appointments, front desk administration, take vitals, room patients and maintain accurate EMR data.

  • Clyde clinic will be the primary site.; you may be asked to travel to other clinics periodically.
  • Posted hourly rate includes approximate $/hour equivalent for health insurance (we provide for employee)
  • This position has availability for either part-time (3 - 4 days / week, from 8am – 5pm) or full time, but has the potential to become full-time (with benefits and vacation).
  • You will have your nights, weekends, and holidays off.
  • Pay dependent upon experience and skills.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school degree required
  • CMA certificate desirable but not required if candidate has previous clinical experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least one year of experience in clinical setting preferred
  • Reception experience in healthcare preferred, but not required
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required
  • Must be reliable, able to prioritize and multi-task effectively
  • Takes initiative and ownership, and can work independently
  • Comfortable using computers (will train) including EMR and Microsoft office apps; comfortable using email and interacting with internet applications
  • Professional appearance and conduct

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Clinical & Administrative Support

  • Check patients in/out for appointments, verify information and insurance benefits, collect co-pays and balances due, schedules follow up appointments;
  • Responsible for patient vitals, rooming and history taking;
  • Properly notifies physicians/mid-level providers if there are problems that need to be addressed
  • Answer the phone in a timely & professional manner, addressing patient questions/concerns or relaying messages as necessary.
  • Advises office manager of any supplies that need to be reordered
  • Maintains a proper, safe, and clean work environment
  • Performs all other duties, tasks, and projects as assigned by the clinical coordinator, management, and physicians/mid-level providers
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice

Typical Physical Demands

Position requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Normal visual acuity is required to be able to visualize a computer screen for vital patient information for long periods of time and to draw up critical and appropriate medication for administration. Normal hearing is required. Involves extensive standing and walking is required. Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
