Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Scientist to join our dynamic research team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry and experience in laboratory settings, focusing on food processing and product development. This role involves conducting experiments, analyzing data, and ensuring quality control throughout the research and development process.
Duties
- As a part of the ingredient research team, gathers information on new and novel ingredients, studies ingredient interactions and functionalities
- Conducts bench-top experiments, formula calculations, and develops prototypes for product tastings and sensory testing across a variety of brands and products
- Interprets test results, writes technical reports, and effectively communicates information within the organization
- Fully understands R&D functions and project management process to lead projects
- Partners with various functions of R&D (Sensory, Nutrition, Regulatory, Flavor Technology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, and Technical Services)
- Manages multiples projects and delivers updates on projects within the business to key stakeholders and cross-functional peers
- Maintains accurate and detailed record of laboratory work
- Work appropriately and safely in a laboratory environment
- Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing business needs and priorities
- Use formulation software to document lab work and formulas.
Experience
- Must have strong food science background
- Must be able to summarize project details and write research reports
- Must have excellent presentation and communication skills
- Self-motivated, takes initiative, highly collaborative with strong problem-solving skills
- Change readiness, resiliency, and flexibility to thrive in fast moving organization
- B.S. in Food Science or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related function within food/beverage (R&D, Quality), CPG, and/or commensurate advanced education
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $37.51 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
