Research Assistant / Onsite in Venice, FL
$22.00 - $30.00 per hour plus benefits
Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 5:00pm
Enzymedica, a worldwide leader in the enzyme supplement industry, is seeking a Research Assistant to support ongoing research projects in product development work. Will work closely with research teams to conduct day to day experiment and assist with data collection, analysis, literature reviews, and other research-related tasks. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Previous laboratory or research experience is preferred, particularly in industry-specific technologies, such as enzymology, biochemistry, biotechnology, food science, materials science. Experience in data analysis and reporting is a plus.
· Proficiency with laboratory equipment and tools (e.g., spectrometers, chromatographs, cell culture), and familiarity with software tools for data analysis (e.g., Excel, prism, or other relevant software).
· Comfortable wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, hair net, face mask, foot covers, lab coat, gloves protective footwear, compression- and impact-resistant shoes to have built-in toe caps.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Master’s Degree in related scientific discipline
· Experience with specific techniques, such as PCR, ELISA, cell culture etc.…
· Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) or other regulatory standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties as required):
· Support senior scientists in conducting experiments, collecting data, and analyzing results. Assist in the design and optimization of new processes, products, or technologies. Maintain and organize lab equipment, prepare reagents, and set up experiments. Ensure proper documentation and compliance with safety regulations.
- Record and organize experimental data accurately. Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and research papers. Maintain detailed and well-organized records of experimental procedures, results, and findings.
- Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research projects and identify new areas for development. Summarize relevant scientific publications and technologies
· Assist in maintaining and improving quality control standards in the lab and throughout the product development process. Ensure that experiments are conducted with precision and adhere to industry standards.
- Assist in the documentation and transfer of new technologies or methodologies from the lab to formulation prototyping.
- Assist in managing project timelines, organizing meetings, preparing progress reports, and maintaining inventory for R&D laboratory supplies.
- Adhere to all Enzymedica, Inc. policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations.
- Participate in Performance Improvement and safety initiatives, including job related and annual training(s), i.e., cGMP.
Supports Good Manufacturing Principles (cGMP) and Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) certification by the following (but not limited too):
- Adherence to cGMP and Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices, standard operating methods, and legal regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Document all production efforts in appropriate logs, forms, reports, and databases.
- Ensure the required quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained with respect to cGMP and SQF operating procedures, all documentation, area housekeeping, production suites, and compliance with the relevant regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Working and partnering with other groups for requirements relating to quality systems, safety, equipment maintenance, and warehousing for cGMP and SQF initiatives.
- Maintains appropriate employee hygiene and cleanliness.
