The dynamic communities of Oregon's North Coast seek a news leader who is as energetic, creative and outgoing as we are. As news editor of The Astorian and Seaside Signal, you'll be the brains guiding a team of dedicated journalists in one of the West Coast's most interesting, artistic, growing and historic places. Our friends and neighbors are incredible - attracted by a thriving business and social scene, outdoor recreation, and a remarkable food / craft brewing network.
Astoria, Warrenton, Seaside, Cannon Beach and nearby inland towns overflow with stories. You'll be on the frontline of news about the compelling people who live where the Columbia River crashes into the North Pacific Ocean. The Astorian is intensely dedicated to living up to this place with a legendary history and an extraordinary future.
You'll manage a full-time staff of five news people, plus additional talented part-timers and freelancers. You'll report to a regional editor with decades of local knowledge and connections throughout the region, who will help guide content decisions and staffing. It will be you who the news team interacts with on a daily basis to produce three print editions, our website and social media.
Tourism and retirement living are vital aspects of our economy and lifestyle. We create the weekly Coast Weekend supplement and annual Our Coast magazine, which you'll help oversee.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience :
